Parcours / Lebenslauf / Professional experience
Katia Iglesias completed a Ph.D in Psychology (Using mixed effect models with cross-random effect for survey data analyses applied to the field of job satisfaction) at the University of Geneva in 2011, and a MA in statistics (Composite Social Indicators: methodology and application to subjective well-being) at University of Neuchâtel in 2004.
After her Ph.D, she worked as a consultant in methodology and in statistics for the Clinical Trial Unit and for the Clinical Center of Epidemiology at University Hospital of Lausanne. Her main tasks were to review protocols, to assess the methodological feasibility of the studies, to define the appropriate design, to calculate sample size, to write statistical analysis plans, and to analyze data. She was involved in several projects funded by the Swiss National Fund for Science. She was also member of the data management and statistics Working Group of the Swiss Clinical Trial Organisation to define the Guidelines for Good Operational Practice.
Katia Iglesias’ research focused on bio-psycho-social well-being and quality of life and on methodological consideration and statistical modeling (social indicators construction, test diagnoses, psychometric validation, mixed effects models, structural equation modeling,).
In 2017, Katia Iglesias joined the Ra&D of the Faculty of Health Sciences in Freiburg. She teaches research culture and critical appraisal in the osteopathy program at Bachelor and Master level, as well as to osteopaths in practice. Since 2021, she is Full Professor UAS and has taken the head of the URM. Her current research interests include quality of life and well-being of vulnerable populations, and psychometrics.
