PrActice Science PArtnership in Swiss Long-Term Care Facilities (PAPA). University hospitals play a leading role in the implementation of new knowledge in the acute care sector. With the PAPA project, the LORE research group enables long-term care facilities to take on this leadership role which is similar to that of university hospitals. The LORE research group supports long-term care facilities in applying knowledge and thereby developing nursing care. The PAPA project takes place under the motto “From knowledge to action” and is empowered by Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) who bridge research and practice as clinical nursing experts (APN-CH).
The LORE research group promotes the development of nursing care through clinical research in long-term care facilities. With our projects, we aim to continuously improve and adapt person-centred practices, in order to guarantee evidence-based care for the residents. This person-centred approach makes it a priority to ensure and improve the safety of residents, as well as psychological safety and collaborative relationships between healthcare professionals and relatives. Psychological safety, in particular, contributes to staff retention.
In order to enable long-term care facilities to call on APN-CH nursing experts from the LORE research group, it is possible to partially co-finance their interventions through interRAI.
